ABOUT ME
TRANSCENDENTAL ASTROLOGER, INTUITIVE CHANNEL, IAM™ YOGA NIDRA FACILITATOR, PHILOSOPHER, ILLUSTRATOR & DESIGNERMY NAME IS THENA
I am a transcendental astrologer, IAM Yoga Nidra™ Facilitator, published illustrator, designer, and intuitive channel for spirit.
It is my greatest commitment to reveal the inner light within you so that you may recognize your purpose in this life and receive the love available to you when you open to receive.
Right now, I live in Ireland, studying at Trinity College Dublin to become a professor of philosophy. I have always had a strong passion for learning and teaching, and my favorite subjects are existentialism and metaphysics. I love structure and logic, so enjoy finding ways to incorporate these into my spiritual teachings to enrich them. As I continue to write on the convergence of philosophy and spirituality, I hope to one day publish my work to reveal how these seemingly-opposite studies can, in fact, be complimentary.
ASTROLOGY
I have studied astrology for nine years, giving readings, teaching classes, and providing educational content so that this knowledge can be restored once again to guide humanity on the path of compassion and Self-awareness.
My studies in astrology first began when I was fifteen, at a time when I had been attempting to disprove it. This process led me down a path of Self-discovery, prompting my interest and passion for spirituality and metaphysics. You can read more about my story in my posts below:
IAM™ YOGA NIDRA
The month after I graduated high school I moved to an ashram in Florida, known as the Amrit Yoga Institute, to volunteer in their “seva” program. During this time I became immersed in the Lakulish Lineage under the teachings of Gurudev Shri Amritji (Yogi Amrit Desai). When I first came to these teachings I was reluctant to take them to heart. I was familiar with some of the metaphysics behind them, yet the cultural and religious background was entirely new to me.
I left for college in Georgia a year later, and during this time I studied Asian Religious Philosophy. It was then as we discussed the Bhagavad Gita in class that everything I had learned the previous year at the ashram began to make sense to me. I decided to leave college to move back to the Amrit Yoga Institute and further my spiritual studies.
During the next two years, I practiced the Integrative Amrit Method™ of yoga and yoga nidra daily and became certified as an IAM Yoga Nidra™ facilitator. My life changed for the better, as my anxiety and depression began to fade and my body experienced an incredible shift in healing and consciousness.
DESIGN & ILLUSTRATION
My family is actively artistic, so soon as I could hold a pencil my mother had me drawing. Throughout my life I have been blessed to experiment with almost every single artistic medium I have wished to, from clay sculpture and needle-felting to oil painting and charcoal sketching – and even digital design. Watercolor painting, however, became my favorite. I have been working with watercolors and ink for nine years now, and it has become my most-used medium. I prefer to paint natural landscapes and animals, and often feel compelled to depict Irish deities, especially goddesses. My artwork has received awards through school programs and has been featured in galleries across the Carolinas in the United States.
My work with the digital arts became more frequent after I left high school to work for the Amrit Yoga Institute (AYI) as their graphic designer and public relations/marketing manager, and the business manager for their boutique, Amrit Kala. Over the years at AYI I designed promitional materials, including several book cover designs for Gurudev Shri Amritji (Yogi Amrit Desai), program catalogs, yoga sequence training cards, logos, and advertisements.
After leaving the Amrit Yoga Institute, I began to use my graphic and website design skills for myself and other clients. I now offer multiple services in illustration, graphic design, website design, and photo editing to a wide audience and continue to improve my skills.

FEATURED ILLUSTRATIONS
In 2016 I had the privilege of illustrating a novel by the world-renowned Yogacharya Kamini Desai, PhD, daughter of Gurudev Shri Amritji (Yogi Amrit Desai), and Director of Education at the Amrit Yoga Institute.
I use this book to teach my classes about the Integrative Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra™, as it provides scientific research to promote the positive effects of yoga nidra on the health, and succinctly explains the unique techniques facilitated in this meditation.
